About … Lalita Chemello
Born in the Motor City and recently displaced to the west side of Michigan, Lalita has embraced the plethora of creative media available at her fingertips for the better part of the last decade, including writing, photography, screenwriting and radio/podcasting.
Today she is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of MiMoto Online: a writing outlet for her long-form automotive and motorsport pieces, as well as the platform for her and partner Josh Pohl’s “MiMoto Podcast.”
In 2019, she began working with Porsche Club of America’s Panorama magazine as a Contributing Editor. Her latest published piece, “European Windows,” featured insight into the 2020 Porsche IMSA season prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has since halted the season. November 2019 her feature on the introduction of Porsche to the Formula E roster (“Eclectic and Electric”) debuted. She was also brought on to write columns for the Women’s LifeStyle of Southwest Michigan magazine. Columns to date include “Missed Connections: Where Are You Holiday Joy?,” “It Costs How Much? How Not to be Surprised When it Comes to Servicing Your Car,” and most recently “Well, We’re Here Now — A Note About What’s Happening. And I’m Sorry.“
Prior projects included Creator and Publisher for GpGrl.com, a motorsport blog site focusing on Formula E, IndyCar and Formula 1 running from 2016 – 2020. She also worked with the I.E. Sports Radio Network where she was co-host and the IndyCar, Formula E specialist on the weekly racing show, “The Extra Mile,” from 2017-2019. Logos for both GpGrl.com and I.E. Sports Radio are Lalita’s designs.

In 2009, she was the winner of the Children’s Detroit Medical Center Holiday Card competition, where her watercolor winter scene was utilized as the holiday cards raising money for the Children’s DMC. The art is displayed in the Children’s Medical Center.
In 2015, her film Macy, of which she wrote, produced and starred in, won Best Drama/Film Noir at the Grizzdance Film Festival, as well as Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Picture for the OU Filmmaker’s Guild awards.
She is currently Chairman of Staging for the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s. She also works with the wonderful ladies of The Dirty Blondes on various projects, based in NYC.
